Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality matcha, made from young, shade-grown tea leaves from the first flush. These leaves are carefully ground into a fine powder, which provides a smooth, slightly sweet taste with minimal bitterness. This quality is intended to be drunk pure, but you can of course also add milk to it. You can recognize high-quality matcha by its bright green color, a rich umami flavor, and a smooth finish. Our matcha comes from Kagoshima, Japan, a region known for high-quality matcha. The tea plants are shade-grown before harvest, which results in more chlorophyll and amino acids such as L-theanine. This gives it a deeper flavour, a smoother texture, and a bright green colour. We work with established producers who focus on quality and consistency, ensuring that every batch meets ceremonial grade standards.

Add 1 to 2 grams of matcha to a bowl. Pour 60 to 80 ml of water at 70 to 80°C over it. Whisk the matcha with a fast zigzag motion until a smooth foam forms. Do not use boiling water, as this will make the taste bitter and flat. The correct temperature ensures a soft, slightly sweet, and balanced taste. Adjust the amount of water according to how strong you want your matcha to be.

Matcha provides you with stable energy, sharper focus, and a high dose of antioxidants. It contains caffeine, but also L-theanine, which slows absorption and prevents energy crashes.
